Before we move on to the pics...the guys reminded me that I neglected to tell you about the event we experienced yesterday while still at the McKinley lodge. We were enjoying a drink before dinner on the overlook deck, watching the clouds close in around the mountains, when suddenly the deck started rocking back and forth. It was just for seconds but there was significant sway going on. Earlier in the day, our raft guide Kelly had told us that they have earth quakes in Alaska all the time...so I guess we just had to find out for ourselves. Needless to say everyone was a bit excited about it. One of the wait staff said, "well at least you were outside", to which I replied, "ya but, we were on a very tall deck!"

Moving To The North Side
This morning we moved to the Denali Wilderness Lodge in Denali National Park. We arrived about 1:pm. This spot is so serene, we decided to just kick back for the afternoon, but not until we explored the shops across the road. Our building is up on a hill overlooking the main lodge. We have our own overlook to the river...just wonderful.
