Chulitna River Float

Wednesday morning was just gorgeous.  The wait staff was almost giddy because the sun was out.  We didn't quite know what to expect for our float tour, especially when we got there and they outfitted us with rain gear, rubber boots and life jackets.  It was outstanding.  Our guide Kelly, like the lodge staff, was so very excited about the sunshine and the views and her attitude was contagious.  It's been very interesting to learn that most of the staff and guides are bi-vocational, working for Princess 5-6 months of the year and then going home or elsewhere to do something else.  Kelly has worked as a white water rafter for several seasons, taking a break this year to do the smooth water floats.  In the winter, she works ski patrol in Colorado.  During the float tour we had awesome views of Mt. McKinley...or as the locals call it...Denali.  Denali means great high one in the native language.  Enjoy the pics!
